Strategic Training Initiative for the Prevention of Eating Disorders (STRIPED)

Our initiative is a public health incubator, designed to cultivate novel insights and strategies for prevention. We introduce trainees to a rich array of disciplinary perspectives, methodologies, and theories and provide them with opportunities to join crosscutting collaborative teams.

Policy campaigns large and small require resources to get the job done. Even grassroots campaigns that do not have expensive lobbyists need resources to pay for things such as:

  • Meeting space
  • Refreshments for meetings and special events
  • Stipends for youth
  • Printing of fact sheets and other materials
  • Facebook ads or polling
  • Transportation to the state capitol or city hall

Make a budget and do not be afraid to ask your supporters to donate to help cover your campaign costs. Look at the funders of organizations that help prevent and treat eating disorders and ask them to support your advocacy efforts. Invite clinicians, support groups, survivors, and their loved ones to pitch in to change policy and save lives. Not sure what goes into a campaign budget? Download our budget worksheet for an ideal budget template for a statewide legislative campaign (PDF). Check out our additional helpful worksheets below.
