Washington SB 5622 was referred to the Senate Ways & Means Committee in 2025 and retained there for the 2026 legislative session. The bill did not advance before the 2025-2026 legislative biennium ended.
New legislation would need to be introduced in 2027 to continue these efforts.

Introduced by Washington State Senators John Lovick, Manka Dhingra, and Marko Liias in the 2025-2026 legislative session, SB 5622would have prohibited the sale of over-the-counter diet pills and dietary supplements marketed for weight loss or muscle building to individuals under 18. The bill included age-verification requirements for in-person sales, safeguards for online and delivery sales, and enforcement by the Office of the Attorney General.
