Legislative Updates

Massachusetts H.2440 was reported favorably by the Joint Committee on Public Health and referred to the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing. The committee’s reporting deadline was extended to July 31, 2026, and no further action has been reported.

Bill Information

Sponsored by Representative Danielle W. Gregoire in the 2025-2026 legislative session, An Act protecting children from harmful diet pills and muscle-building supplements (H.2440) would prohibit the sale of over-the-counter diet pills and dietary supplements marketed for weight loss or muscle building to individuals under 18. The bill would also require age verification for in-person and online sales, delivery safeguards, and restricted access to these products in retail stores.
