Although Massachusetts Massachusetts House Bill HD.716 did not pass the 2025-2026 legislative session, the fight to protect young people from harmful weight loss and muscle-building supplements continues. Sponsored by Representative Lindsay Sabadosa and Senator Rebecca Rausch, this bill aimed to implement critical safeguards. Introduced by Massachusetts Representative Lindsay Sabadosa and Senator Rebecca Rausch in the 2025-2026 legislative session, An Act protecting children from harmful diet pills and muscle-building supplements (HD.716) would protect minors by prohibiting the sale of over-the-counter diet pills and muscle-building supplements to individuals under 18. The bill also includes safeguards for online sales, requiring age verification and delivery restrictions, and mandates that these products be placed behind store counters or in locked cases to prevent unauthorized access.
