Our initiative is a public health incubator, designed to cultivate novel insights and strategies for prevention. We introduce trainees to a rich array of disciplinary perspectives, methodologies, and theories and provide them with opportunities to join crosscutting collaborative teams.

Legislative Updates
HB 3027 was approved for consideration and placed on the House calendar for Second Reading in February 2026. On April 17, 2026, the bill was re-referred to the Rules Committee, where it currently remains.
Illinois is scheduled to reconvene for its veto session in November 2026.

Sponsored by Representative Janet Yang Rohr, with Representatives Theresa Mah and Camille Y. Lilly as co-sponsors, the Ban on Harmful Supplements for Minors Act (HB 3027) would prohibit the sale of diet pills and dietary supplements for weight loss or muscle building to individuals under 18 unless prescribed by a healthcare provider.
The bill also establishes enforcement measures, including civil penalties of up to $1,000 per violation.
