Legislative Updates

Senate Bills 2106 and 2284 have been referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services for a hearing on February 2, 2026.

Bill Information

House Bill 2380: Sponsored by Representatives Mark Hashem, Tina Grandinetti, and Cory Chun, HB 2380 would prohibit the sale of nonprescription diet pills and dietary supplements marketed for weight loss or muscle building to individuals under 18 and require age-verification safeguards for retail and delivery sales. The bill has been introduced in the 2026 legislative session.

Senate Bill 2106 and Senate Bill 2284: Companion measures SB2106 and SB2284 would similarly prohibit the sale of nonprescription weight loss and muscle-building supplements to minors and establish age-verification safeguards. Both Senate bills have been introduced and passed First Reading.
