Strategic Training Initiative for the Prevention of Eating Disorders (STRIPED)

Our initiative is a public health incubator, designed to cultivate novel insights and strategies for prevention. We introduce trainees to a rich array of disciplinary perspectives, methodologies, and theories and provide them with opportunities to join crosscutting collaborative teams.

California: Out of Kids’ Hands

Legislative Updates

On June 30, 2026, California AB 2030 passed the Senate Judiciary Committee with unanimous support in an 11–0 vote. This follows the bill’s successful passage through the Senate Health Committee last week and marks another important step toward protecting young people from dangerous over-the-counter diet pills and muscle-building supplements.

Thank you to Asm. Josh Lowenthal, legislative champions, STRIPED youth advocates, the Center for Science in the Public Interest, and our many coalition partners in the community for their continued leadership, advocacy, and partnership in advancing this important child health effort.

AB 2030 will next be considered by the California Senate Appropriations Committee later this summer.
