VICTORY: AB 2030 Has Been Signed Into Law! 🎉
It’s official: California AB 2030 is now law. Governor Gavin Newsom signed the bill on September 28, 2026, bringing the campaign across the finish line after months of advocacy from young people, coalition partners, organizations, researchers, and supporters across California and beyond.
AB 2030 addresses the sale of harmful over-the-counter diet pills and dietary supplements marketed for weight loss or muscle building to minors.
This was a true team effort. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who lent their voice, time, expertise, and support to this campaign — and to Assemblymember Josh Lowenthal and his staff for their leadership throughout the legislative process.
California, we did it. AB 2030 is law.
