Accepted non-degree summer students will receive their Harvard University ID (HUID) and information on requesting a HarvardKey from the Admissions Office. For more information about claiming your HarvardKey, please visit https://reference.iam.harvard.edu/faq.

Students must meet Massachusetts’ strict immunization requirements in order to register for classes.

  • The HarvardKey is required to complete and submit Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Immunization Forms.
  • To download the required forms, confirm the document submission deadline, and for additional information regarding complying with the immunization requirement, please visit the HUHS website.

Non-degree summer students will receive email communications to the email address that was submitted on their admissions application. Non-degree summer students will not receive a Harvard email address.

A photo is needed for your Student Identification Card. Additional information regarding when to submit your photo will be emailed to you from the Registrar’s Office in early May.

Instructions for submitting a photo can be found here.

Tuition for non-degree summer students is charged at a per credit rate. To confirm the per credit rate, please visit the Student Billing page and select the appropriate academic year from the left hand menu for tuition and fees. Payments are submitted through the my.harvard student portal (HarvardKey required). For information about Student Accounts and how to make payments, visit https://sfs.harvard.edu/student-accounts.

Please check the Academic Calendar to confirm when “Summer Per Credit Tuition Charges” are due. Summer per credit tuition charges are generally due during the month of June.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding check-in, we encourage you to call the Registrar’s Office at (617) 432-1032.

Additional information about Orientation can be found on the Orientation website.

Please log into my.harvard, select the student portal, locate the To Do section on your student home page, and click on the Harvard Chan School Check-In link.  Once you have successfully completed your check-in, please proceed to the ORANGE STATION to clear your hold. The Harvard Chan School Check-In link will be available towards the end of April.

Please note: Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) will not be at Orientation to clear health services holds. Please see information provided below if you have any questions about clearing this hold.

Immunization Requirement
Students must meet Massachusetts’ strict immunization requirements in order to register for classes.  We encourage you to receive the required immunizations before you arrive at Harvard. If you are unable to obtain these prior to your arrival on campus, you may arrange to get immunizations at various locations in the area, including Harvard University Health Services (HUHS). Please note that your health plan may not cover immunizations you receive at HUHS, in which case you will be responsible for the cost of the immunizations.

For further details please visit the HUHS website.

Contact the HUHS Medical Area Clinic at MAHealthServices@huhs.harvard.edu or (617) 432-1370 for general immunization questions or mrecords@huhs.harvard.edu for questions about immunization documentation processing.

Students who have not submitted the immunization forms will not be allowed to enroll and will be withdrawn from program candidacy if the requirements are not met by the term’s add/drop/change deadline.

We want to help make your check-in a fast and easy process by not waiting in line!

Please be aware that holds must be cleared by the add/drop/change deadline for each term.

If contingencies are not clear by this deadline, you will be withdrawn from the program.
