Welcome to the NORI Lab
The NORI (Natural hazards, Outcomes Research, and health Inequities) Lab, led by Dr. Amruta Nori-Sarma in the Department of Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, investigates how extreme weather events and environmental exposures drive health disparities across the lifecourse. With a particular focus on populations that bear a disproportionate burden of climate-related harm, the lab uses a multi-level framework to understand how physical and built environment exposures interact with sociocultural and healthcare system factors to produce unequal health outcomes across underserved communities. Our Work
CAFE
The CAFE RCC brings together the research community to foster collaboration and accelerate science to address the health impacts of increasing extreme weather and natural disasters.
PRIME Boston
We are examining urban heat exposures and vulnerability in Boston communities using neighborhood-level data and health outcomes.
MA EJ Fund
In partnership with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office, we are leveraging existing state health data to understand which communities have highest climate exposure and health risks.
Wellcome Trust
This collaborative project led by Mary Rice is investigating heat and air quality interactions and health outcomes across the US.
