Cutter Distinguished Lecture on Molecular Metabolism and Preventative Medicine with Janelle Ayres

Kresge G2 665 Huntington Ave, Boston, Massachusetts, United States

Dr. Ayres studies host-microbe interactions, discovering the "Cooperative Defense System"—how hosts cooperate with pathogens rather than eliminating them. Her lab has shown specific gut bacteria protect against infection-induced wasting and sickness behaviors, revealing how microbes reprogram host metabolism to promote health during disease. Community-Engaged Research Working Group in Environmental Health

HSPH, Bldg. 1, Room 1110

Join the Harvard Chan NIEHS Center’s working group on community-engaged research in environmental health! This working group brings together faculty, trainees, students, and staff to discuss the methods and practice of conducting community-engaged research with a focus on environmental health. We'll meet in person in Building 1, 1302 on December 7, 1-2:00 pm. December agenda:...

Specific Aims Review Session

Via Zoom

For Center members, their collaborators, affiliates, and trainees  Are you preparing for an upcoming environmental health-related submission? Have your Specific Aims page reviewed by our senior NIEHS Center faculty! In a friendly, constructive, small-group open session, a panel of Center members will offer critique and suggestions to improve your Specific Aims or goals. Proposals are welcomed that...

Cutter Distinguished Lecture on Molecular Metabolism and Preventative Medicine with Brandon Faubert

FXB - G12 665 Huntington Ave, Boston, Massachusetts, United States

Dr. Faubert studies metabolic reprogramming in cancer, using isotope tracing, metabolomics, and in vivo/intraoperative measurements to understand how tumors adapt metabolism to survive and spread. His lab is identifying metabolic vulnerabilities that emerge during metastasis, with the goal of uncovering novel, therapeutically targetable pathways. Speaker Information

Cutter Distinguished Lecture on Molecular Metabolism and Preventative Medicine with Natalie Krahmer

Kresge G2 665 Huntington Ave, Boston, Massachusetts, United States

Dr. Krahmer develops spatial proteomic tools to map protein localization and organelle function, studying how chronic overnutrition reshapes cells and drives obesity and fatty liver disease. Her lab aims to identify genetic risk factors and novel drug targets to inform pharmaceutical intervention strategies. Speaker Information

Cutter Distinguished Lecture on Molecular Metabolism and Preventative Medicine with Michael Snyder

Kresge G2 665 Huntington Ave, Boston, Massachusetts, United States

Dr. Snyder pioneered functional genomics and multi-omics technologies, including ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, and integrative personal omics profiling (iPOP), to study genomes, proteomes, and regulatory networks. His iPOP approach longitudinally tracks individual health data to assess disease risk and monitor disease states for personalized medicine. Speaker Information
