Internship Grant for Master’s Students for Public Health Practicum in India
The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health India Research Center (‘IRC’ or ‘the Center’), an office of Harvard Global Research Support Centre India (‘HGI’), is pleased to announce that it is now accepting proposals from Harvard Chan Master’s Students for an internship grant to conduct their practicum with a community-based public health organization in India.
The funding will support current master’s students looking to conduct their practicum in collaboration with an Indian public health organization on a community-based project addressing key public health priorities, including but not limited to non-communicable diseases (such as cancers, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes), mental health, climate change and health, and infectious diseases in India.
The award will provide up to INR 5,00,000 (~$5,700) for the student towards work that benefits the public at large. Funding can be used by master’s students for community-based engagement in the field working closely with an organization engaged in public health. It can be used to cover expenses in India such including travel, on-field expenses, and any other expenses associated with the internship/practicum (with prior approval of the IRC). While the grant amount is sufficient to cover a visit to India for up to 8 weeks, the student can be engaged with the organization for longer, even remotely, before and after the visit for their practicum. This award will not support any internship or practicum that will rely on remote engagement.
Deadline: 5:00 PM EST on October 26, 2025
Anticipated notification of award: by December 2025.
