This site provides details on tuition and fees, applying for financial aid, types of funding, billing policies, and more. Please review all the information carefully and contact the Office of Financial Aid if you have any questions.

U.S. Military Benefits

Veterans or their dependents may be eligible to receive educational benefits through the Veteran’s Administration.

Veterans and active-duty military may also be eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program, in which Harvard Chan School will contribute up to $10,000 in grant money and the VA will match that sum.

Please review the VA’s Education and Training information to see what benefits you may be eligible for.

Applying for Veteran or Active-Duty Benefits

  • Apply for benefits with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs to receive a Certificate of Eligibility. Only veterans certified by the VA as having 100% eligibility are eligible for Yellow Ribbon benefits.
  • Submit a copy of the Certificate of Eligibility to Harvard Chan School to Michael Silvernail in the Office of Financial Aid at msilvernail@hsph.harvard.edu If your eligibility status changes, please provide that update.
  • All students must also submit a Notice of Student Enrollment at the beginning of each academic year in which they wish to receive benefits.

VA awards will appear on the student’s financial aid package once the Office of Financial Aid has received both forms and has confirmed eligibility.
