Symposium on Quality of Hospital Care
November 29–30, 2017
The Harvard Global Health Institute and the India Research Center held a symposium on the quality of hospital care on November 29 and 30, 2017. The symposium was led by Professor Ashish Jha, senior associate dean for research translation and global strategy and K.T. Li Professor of Global Health at Harvard Chan School, and director of the Harvard Global Health Institute; and Professor Winnie Yip, professor of the practice of international health policy and economics at Harvard Chan School.
The event brought together leading scholars and senior policymakers from Harvard and India to engage in defining a shared agenda for health care quality and exploring areas of learning and collaboration for empirical work on the most important health system interventions. This exercise included identifying lessons from not just the U.S. and India, but also from other high- and middle-income countries as well, and bringing that evidence to develop new approaches to improving care.
