Launch of the Lancet Commission on Women and Health Report

February 2017

In February 2017, at the India Research Center, the Lancet commission released a pivotal strategic framework for the women and health agenda. A partnership between The Lancet, the Women and Health Initiative at Harvard Chan School, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, the commission was tasked with generating evidence to help build a global agenda for women’s health.

Following the launch of the report, Dr. Ana Langer, co-chair of the commission, professor of the practice of public health, and coordinator of the dean’s special initiative on women and health at Harvard Chan School, led a symposium on women’s health at the Center. Both events saw enthusiastic participation from several Harvard faculty and students, as well as Indian partners.
