Improving Health Outcomes Through Effective Corporate Social Responsibility

In collaboration with Wockhardt Foundation and CSR Advisors, the India Research Center organized a round-table conference on corporate social responsibility (CSR) to form a learning network and enable an exchange of ideas and experiences. Dr. R. Mashelkar, former director general, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), delivered the opening keynote on scalable and affordable solutions to health care in India and the role of technological solutions. Other speakers included Dr. A. Velumani, founder of Thyrocare, who spoke about combining health care business practices with social impact, and Dr. Kalpana Aapte, secretary general, Family Planning Association of India, who spoke about the lessons learnt and challenges faced by non-governmental organizations after the CSR Law.
