Hybrid Symposium on ‘The First 1000 Days of Life in India: Evidence & Recommendations’

Conducted on October 14, 2022: A panel discussion on the First 1000 Days of Life in India: Evidence and Recommendations, co-organized by the India Research Center, Project SANCHAR, and the Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute at Harvard University. The discussion addressed maternal and child nutrition and its progress in India, and brought together subject and policy experts to gain insight into the research and data around maternal and child nutrition, the trajectory of communication strategies, the lessons learnt during implementation, and recommendations going forward.

Panelists included Dr Hemalatha R, Director, ICRM – National Institute of Nutrition; Mini Varghese, Country Director, Nutrition International India; Dr Pooja Sehgal, Country Lead, Health and Nutrition Communications, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; Dr SV Subramanian, professor of population health and geography, Harvard University. The discussion was moderated by Dr. K. Vish Viswanath, Lee Kum Kee Professor of Health Communications at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and faculty director, India Research Center.
