Erin O’Dwyer

Erin O’Dwyer is an interdisciplinary scholar and T32 postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she is mentored by Dr. Christopher Golden and Dr. Eric Rimm.

In the Golden Lab, Erin explores how healthy and sustainable dietary patterns can be adapted across diverse global contexts and how ecological change and agricultural production shape food quality, diets, and population health. Her broader research examines how public and healthcare investments in nutrition can be leveraged to improve population health while supporting transitions toward more equitable, resilient, and regenerative food systems. Using qualitative, mixed-methods, and community-engaged approaches, she studies how these investments, including expanding Food is Medicine programs and institutional food procurement, can be designed and implemented to generate co-benefits for health, farming communities, and the environment.

Erin earned her PhD in Population Health Sciences from Harvard Chan and an MSc in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine. Her previous work has spanned scales, from global food-sector sustainability research at the Columbia Center for Sustainable Investment to community-engaged research with farmers in the United States. Prior to returning to Harvard, she was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University School of Medicine and the Stanford Center for Human and Planetary Health.
