Community Engaged Learning Resources

At Harvard Chan, community engaged learning invites practitioners to take on the posture of a learner, build relationships, and gain a deeper understanding of systems and contexts through proximity to community partners in the field.

Interrogating our positionality helps us understand how our intersecting identities might shape our understanding and engagement with projects.

We emphasize the practice of critical reflection to raise awareness and challenge our assumptions, engage more equitably with community members, and make personal meaning of our experiences to facilitate transformative learning.

Learn more about our community engaged learning framework through learning modules, reflection questions, and resources prepared by program staff.

We have created five learning modules that take a deeper dive into each of the elements of the community engaged learning framework developed and applied at Harvard Chan. Each module closes with a set of reflection questions.
