Diana Ceballos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Occupational Health Sciences at the University of Washington. She received her PhD in Environmental and Occupational Hygiene from the University of Washington, and she also holds a MS in Atmospheric Chemistry from the University of Nevada-Reno and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellin, Colombia. As clinical research director and principal research scientist at the MIT Laboratory for Computational Physiology (LCP), and as a practicing intensive care unit (ICU) physician at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), Leo brings together clinicians and data scientists to support research using data routinely collected in the process of care. His group built and maintains the publicly-available Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care (MIMIC) database and the Philips-MIT eICU Collaborative Research Database, with more than 20,000 users from around the world. Dr. Christiani’s major research interests are occupational, environmental and molecular epidemiology. He has been active in developing new methods for assessing health effects after exposure to pollutants and has a very active interest in international occupational and environmental health studies. In collaboration with other investigators at HSPH, he has developed new biologic markers used in examination of pollutant-induced diseases such as lung cancer, bladder cancer, skin cancer and upper respiratory-tract inflammation. Manuel Cifuentes, ScD, MD, MPH, is a Public Health Researcher and the Senior Biostatistician in the Center for Health Policy and Research at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Until August, 2015 he was an Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the Department of Work Environment at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he continues advising research activities of doctoral students. Dr. Cohen is a Research Associate Professor of Medicine at the Tufts Medical Center Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies, and Deputy Director of the Center for the Evaluation of Value and Risk in Health. His research has focused on the application of simulation to assess the risks, benefits, and costs of health interventions. His work has evaluated a range of medical and public health interventions.
