Statement from Harvard Chan C-CHANGE’s Dr. Gaurab Basu on new EPA power plant regulations

Boston – In response to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new power plant regulations, Dr. Gaurab Basu, primary care physician and director of policy and education at the Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, released the following statement:

“The EPA regulations announced today are a critical tool in our transition to a clean energy economy. The vast and profound impacts of climate change and air pollution on human health require that we act with urgency to rapidly transition away from burning fossil fuels like coal and commit to clean energy sources.

We sit at a moment in history when the impacts of climate change have never been so grave, yet we have so many solutions ready to deploy immediately. Our nation’s health relies on it.”
