Help Planning 2024 Data Adventure Day
Biostats and Statistics are organizing a one-day Data Adventure Day event in late October or early November (date will be a Friday and will be decided by the beginning of September), meant to expose local high schoolers from diverse backgrounds to applications of statistics and data science. This is the third year that we are organizing the event (the first year, it was called Florence Nightingale Day).
Planning committee member responsibilities generally include attending weekly planning meetings, helping reach out to potential sponsors and speakers, helping construct activities, and supporting the activities on the day of the event. Starting the first week of September, we will have weekly hour-long committee meetings on Zoom to help with the planning process; meetings will be scheduled on a day between Monday and Friday, 9-5, based on committee members availability.
If you are interested in planning high school outreach programs and think you would like to be a part of our committee, we encourage you to contact Emily Palmer. Please share with us a few sentences about your interest in the committee and if you have any related experience.
