Webinar on “Adolescent Well-being & the Impact of Social Media in India”

Conducted on September 12, 2023: A panel discussion that provided an opportunity to explore the dynamic relationship between social media and adolescent mental health in the context of the pandemic and otherwise, and discuss evidence-based strategies to promote positive social media usage and protect the well-being of adolescents in India.

Panelists included Dr Anjali Chhabria, psychiatrist and director, Mindtemple Institute of Behavioral Sciences; Dr Kanika Malik, associate professor of Counselling and Psychology, OP Jindal University; Tshering D Bhutia, vice president of preventive health and nutrition, Salaam Bombay Foundation; Dr Zoya Ali Rizvi, deputy commissioner for adolescent health, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The discussion was moderated by Dr K. Vish Viswanath, Lee Kum Kee Professor of Health Communications at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and faculty director, Harvard Chan India Research Center.
