HUGE VICTORY: California AB 2030 Is Officially Law!
We did it! On September 28, 2026, Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 2030 into law, marking a major milestone for the Out of Kids’ Hands campaign.
This moment was made possible by a powerhouse coalition of youth advocates, community partners, researchers, organizations, and supporters who spoke up, signed on, shared their stories, and kept showing up throughout the campaign.
A huge thank you to Assemblymember Josh Lowenthal and his staff for carrying AB 2030 through the legislature, and to Governor Newsom for signing it into law and for their commitment to advancing protections for children.
