Vice Chairperson – Piramal Group
Dr. Swati Piramal is Vice Chairperson of the Piramal Group, a leading Indian multinational with interests in pharmaceuticals, financial services and real estate. A medical doctor with an M.B.B.S from the University of Mumbai and a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard, she has combined expertise in healthcare, business and public policy to advance healthcare, education and innovation in India.
Dr. Piramal is closely involved with the Piramal Foundation, supporting initiatives focused on rural healthcare, women’s empowerment and community education. Dr. Piramal was the first woman President of India’s apex chamber of commerce, ASSOCHAM, in its 90-year history and has served as an advisor to the Prime Minister of India on science, technology and economic policy. She is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR).
A recipient of the Padma Shri and France’s Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, among other recognitions, Dr. Piramal currently serves on the boards of AbbVie Therapeutic India, Sidra Medicine and EssilorLuxottica, and previously served on the board of Nestlé India. She also chairs the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee of EssilorLuxottica.

Dr. Ramya Pinnamaneni is a physician and public health researcher with experience in global health, health communication, maternal and child health, and health systems. Dr. Pinnamaneni holds an MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College, India, and an MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she worked for seven years with the Viswanath Lab.
She currently serves as Director of the KIIT School of Public Health at KIIT Deemed to be University in Bhubaneswar, India. In this role, she leads academic programs, research, strategic partnerships, and initiatives focused on strengthening public health education.
Her work focuses on maternal and child health, social and behavioral change communication, health equity, evidence synthesis, and research translation, and a strong focus on promoting interdisciplinary approaches in public health education. She remains actively engaged with the Harvard community.
