“Looped” unites a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals and AI experts to revolutionize diabetes care.
The team is building a cutting-edge, AI-driven platform designed to enhance hybrid closed-loop insulin management for individuals with diabetes. Built on the foundation of the existing DIY hybrid Loop ecosystem, the system integrates continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and insulin pumps. Through continuously learning from each patient’s glucose trends, hormonal cycles, dietary habits, and lifestyle factors, the platform empowers the Loop system to deliver highly precise, adaptive insulin dosing tailored to individual needs.
A built-in camera uses computer vision to recognize food intake, while deep learning models analyze food images in real time to estimate carbohydrate and nutrient content. The system then calculates the appropriate bolus insulin dosage and predicts the timing and duration of post-meal glucose spikes, enabling proactive management of blood sugar levels.
Designed to reduce the daily burden of diabetes management, the technology offers a scalable approach to improving long-term health outcomes. With a scalable tech foundation and growing market demand, Looped is positioned to become a leader in intelligent diabetes care.
