This toolkit is designed to help investigators think through the steps needed to select and test implementation strategies in community-based healthcare settings. It is intended for investigators conducting research in community-based healthcare settings such as primary care clinics and community health centers. It details a collaborative process for 1) identifying barriers to evidence-based, equitable care, 2) reviewing existing clinical workflows 3) selecting implementation strategies, 4) facilitating implementation strategies and 5) supporting sustainability. You can view the toolkit here.

This toolkit is intended to aid community health centers in organizing Community Advisory Boards (CABs) to enhance community involvement in the implementation of evidence-based programs and practices as well as research. This toolkit offers guidelines on various aspects of CAB management, such as leadership structures, communication, decision-making, prioritization, and budgeting for sustainability. You can view the toolkit here.

The Implementation Resource Navigator is a curated, guided website that organizes web-based implementation research resources by topic and easy-to-use links. This site will support researchers (from beginning to expert implementation scientists), research mentors, and educators to navigate a proliferation of frameworks, measures, tools, and educational materials. See the flyer here for more information

The Implementation Science Working Group serves as an infrastructure for bringing together investigators and trainees of all career development levels to share ideas and learn about the field of implementation science. Please email us for more information or if you are interested in joining.

CEP offers one-one-one consultations and trainings to Harvard University affiliated researchers and community partners interested in learning about the following approaches:

  • Community-engaged research
  • Dissemination and implementation science
  • Mixed methods
  • Policy translation capacity building

Submit your consultation form here and a CEP member will reach out for more details.

Harvard Catalyst offers an eight-week online course for investigations who want to understand and apply implementation science methods to their research. The course is designed as an introduction to the theory and methods of implementation research. You can view course details here.

NCI’s Implementation Science team aims to support capacity development in the field through several training and educational activities, including a monthly webinar series, training programs, and an annual conference.

This introduces the definition, history, and scope of implementation science, and places the field within other fields of study. You can view the overview here.

The University of Washington’s Implementation Science Resource Hub offers an overview of how implementation science can be employed by many disciplines and a collection of articles highlighting the relevance, state, or use of implementation science within nearly 20 different disciplines.

A collection of short videos on key theories, models, and frameworks in the field of dissemination and implementation science. You can view the video library here.

Implementation Learning Community (ILC)

The Implementation Learning Community (ILC) meetings bring together health center staff across the state of Massachusetts to network and collaborate among partner sites and participate in expert panels, presentations, small group discussions, case studies, and more. These community meetings focus on topics based on feedback from health center partners in priority areas that they highlight related to implementation science, health equity and cancer prevention. The ILCs are virtual and are held quarterly. We hope to bring the community together in-person soon.

If you have any questions about the ILC, please contact Maddie Davies.

You can view the ILC recordings here.

Colonoscopy Prep Materials

In collaboration with community health center partners, we’ve developed a plain language, patient-facing bowel prep instructional video in multiple languages, as well as a comic-style handout to be used along with or in place of the videos.

You can view the materials here.
