Implementation Science Center for Cancer Control Equity

The Implementation Science Center for Cancer Control Equity (ISCCCE) is one of seven such centers funded by the National Cancer Institute Moonshot Initiative. ISCCCE aims to develop sustainable strategies for ensuring that all patients have access to evidence-based cancer prevention and control.

Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics-Underserved Populations (RADX-UP)

RADx-UP is a nationwide initiative sponsored by the National Institutes of Health aimed at increasing the rate and speed of COVID-19 testing in marginalized communities that are most affected by the pandemic. Our local project, RADx-MA focuses on working with community health centers (CHCs) through a partnership between the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Massachusetts General Hospital, under the leadership of Susan Dargon-Hart, Karen Emmons, and Elsie Taveras.

The goal of RADx-MA is to create CHC-community partnerships in 9 hotspot communities that will leverage the grant resources as well as other community resources to accelerate access to and trust in testing.

Communication about COVID-19 is very complicated and changes over time. We are developing clear, plain language materials in multiple languages that support CHCs with their efforts to increase testing and to communicate the next steps with patients that have different testing outcomes. The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers team has created a one-stop shop for health centers to receive updates, news and resources from RADX-MA. If you would like to learn more and participate in the dialogue, please visit their community platform here.
