Our Team

Kathy leads the Office of Financial Aid and is part of the Student Services management team. She collaborates with senior management, academic departments, the Office of Financial Services and other stakeholders both within and outside of the School and University on financial aid matters including policy decisions, strategic planning, compliance, and student recruitment, retention, and debt management.

Outside of work, Kathy spends time with her two sons and helps operate her husband’s ornamental plastering business. She enjoys reading, cooking, and being near the water. Kathy has a BA in Political Science from Bates College, and a MA in Higher Education Administration from Boston College.

Michael oversees the federal aid programs and ensures regulatory compliance. He also serves as the point of contact for veterans on their VA benefits.  Michael works with Salam and Senait on loan processing, financial counseling and the financial aid application process. He has a particular interest and expertise in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

Outside of work, he listens to more British-news podcasts than he really has time for and is an avid follower of European politics in general.  Michael is a graduate of Boston University and also holds a Master’s in Teaching, a Master’s in Higher Education Administration and a Master’s in European History.

Senait serves as Third-Party Contract liaison and oversees the refund process. She also coordinates the Federal Work Study Program and counsels’ students on financing their education by assisting with the federal and alternative/private loan processes. 

Senait also serves as a general information resource for current and prospective students, alumna, staff, and faculty. Moreover, in collaboration with the Registrar’s Office, they review and manage the Student Billing Policy.

Administers stipends for Harvard Chan students and acts as a central information hub for current and prospective students, alumni, staff, and faculty. Supports the academic departments in the tuition award process and supports the OFA staff in the day-to-day operations of the office.
