Master of Public Health Programs
As Senior Programs Coordinator, Liz works to support the MPH programs and meet the needs of students.
Liz received a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from the Lynch School of Education at Boston College, where she also previously worked to serve underrepresented and first generation college students pursuing medical school.
Liz is passionate about creating positive and meaningful learning experiences. Outside of work, she loves being active and traveling to new places.
As the Assistant Director of the Master of Public Health program, Emily primarily works with students enrolled in the on-campus MPH 45-credit and MPH 65-credit programs, including students in the summer-focused option, as well as those pursuing dual/joint degree programs. Emily seeks to approach her work through a lens of access, equity, and inclusion, and enjoys working with all fields of study across the interdisciplinary MPH program. Additionally, Emily is a strong proponent of continuous process improvement and serves on many committees including the CARE Team and Harvard College Board of First-Year Advisers.
Emily holds an Ed.M. in Higher Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in English from Saint Louis University.
Outside of work, Emily is an avid reader and enjoys museums, yoga, tennis, and spending time with her family.
As Assistant Director, MPH Generalist and Cross-MPH Programming, Megan Kerin oversees the online Master of Public Health – Generalist (MPH-GEN) program and supports the needs of its students. Megan also designs and leads MPH-wide initiatives that create cohorts of students across Fields of Study.
Before coming to Harvard Chan, Megan worked in academic administration at Boston University and in student affairs at New York University‘s campus in Florence, Italy. Megan holds an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Boston University and a B.A. in Italian and Government from Georgetown University.
Ying-Ju manages the MPH Core courses and supports various projects within the Office of Educational Programs. Prior to joining Harvard Chan, she worked in academic administration at Boston University School of Medicine. She was also a writing teacher on both the high school and college level. She grew up in Taiwan before moving to the US for college. She earned a BA in Psychology and German Studies from Wesleyan University and a MFA in Creative Writing from Boston University.
Stephanie Lemoine is the Assistant Director of the MPH in Epidemiology and Summer Session for Public Health Studies. She is a part of the MPH program team where she is responsible for all logistical and strategic management of the MPH-EPI and Summer programs.
Stephanie completed an MA in Higher Education Administration from the Lynch School of Education at Boston College. She has been working with the MPH in Epidemiology program since it was developed in 2015. Prior to her current role, Stephanie worked for the residential MPH program in addition to the Integrated Course in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics and the Certificate Program in Clinical Research Methods.
Stephanie is passionate about giving back to others in her community and participates in several charity organizations. In her free time, she enjoys running, binge watching any tv show and spending time with her family.
Tracy’s role as MPH Program Assistant includes but is not limited to project support, event planning, steering committee coordination, calendar management, and recruitment.
Tracy has worked at Harvard Chan for seven years and her background is mostly in Human Resources at various companies, firms, and organizations. She is also a student at the Harvard Extension School.
Tracy is from Massachusetts, and although she’s lived in several other places in this country she’s spent most of her life living in the North End, which is Boston’s Little Italy. Tracy has practiced yoga for 20 years and is certified to teach it.
Anne oversees the administration of the Master of Public Health program at Harvard Chan. With her team, Anne engages with hundreds of MPHers from numerous fields of study, as applicants, students, and alumni. Anne has coached for the Harvard Administrative Fellowship program and the Public Health Leadership concentration and aided in the launch of the Peer Coaching Initiative at Harvard. Anne teaches courses on Authentic Leadership at the Harvard Chan School, Harvard Extension School, and in Harvard’s Pre-College program.
Prior to her time at Harvard, Anne enjoyed some time managing the student affairs division at New York University in Florence, Italy. She loves working with students on getting what they want from their education and careers! She has a BA from Colgate University and a MA from Boston College in Counseling Psychology. Outside of her professional life, Anne is a big fan of yoga, the performing arts, spending time with her family and traveling.
Nkwanzi Sabiti is the Senior Program Coordinator for in-person MPH 45 and MPH 65-degree programs. As part of the OEP team, she supports and guides students as they earn their MPH degree and answers questions from prospective applicants.
Doctor of Public Health Program
Gary Williams is the Assistant Director in the DrPH Program which is part of the leadership team that works closely with the program’s Faculty Director. The role is directly responsible for faculty and student support, as well as serving as the key point of contact for the program within and outside of OEP.
Prior to joining the DrPH Program, Gary’s work experience was steeped in curriculum and academic planning, institutional planning and effectiveness, accreditation and policy analysis.
Field Education & Practice and Community Engaged Learning
William Bean is an Instructor at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and teaches in the Health Policy and Management department.
Before coming to Harvard Bill spent 25 years as an independent management consultant, working primarily with Fortune 50 companies in over 40 countries. Later in his career Bill shifted his focus to the field of global health and worked extensively with various Ministries of Health, WHO, World Bank and NGOs. He was able to introduce methodologies drawn from the corporate world that would enable Ministries and NGOs to work in more strategically.
He left consulting in 2010 and received his MPH from Harvard in 2011, and is now on the faculty at Harvard Chan. Bill received his MPH from Harvard Chan, his PhD from Princeton, his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and his BA from Cornell University.
Andrew is the Field Practice Manager in the Office of Educational Programs. Andrew graduated in Spring 2022 with a Masters in Public Health in Health Administration from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, one year after graduating with a bachelors degree in public health.
Andrew was part of Massachusetts’s COVID-19 contact tracing efforts with the Community Tracing Collaborative, experience that allowed him to help those directly impacted by the pandemic.
In Andrew’s free time, he loves watching the NBA, playing with his dog, and spending time with his family.
Jocelyn Chu (She/Her) is the Director of Community Engaged Learning and an Instructor in the Office of Education. The focus of her work is on field based education and community engaged learning. Jocelyn leads the Community Engaged Learning Fellowships program which centers on the practice of critical reflection and transformative learning. She is an instructor for SBS 501 and 551 Community Based Participatory Research.
Jocelyn’s journey in public health started at a community health center in Boston’s Chinatown, developing programs and working alongside community health educators. After spending most of her public health career in research and consulting, Jocelyn is delighted to engage in teaching and equipping the next generation of public health practitioners, scholars and leaders.
Jocelyn received her MPH from Boston University School of Public Health and ScD in Health and Social Behavior at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health..
Stacey King is the Director of Field Education and Practice, working with students, faculty, and organizations to support student learning with experienced public health practitioners in Boston and around the world.
Prior to Harvard Chan, she worked for 10 years at Cambridge Health Alliance, with the Cambridge Public Health Department. She most recently served as the Director of the Community Health Division addressing the health of men of color, children’s oral health, violence prevention, substance abuse, and early childhood literacy. She is a founder and co-lead of the Academic Public Health Corps in Massachusetts; and an adviser for the Coalition of Racial Equity in Mental Health (Core Mental Health), which focuses on racial equity and mental health.
Stacey has an MS in Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism from Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, and an AB in Psychology from Brown University.
Outside of work, flower gardening and experimenting with cooking Nepali food are a couple of Stacey’s ongoing projects.
Zacch Olorunnipa (he/him) is an Education Coordinator within OEP. He supports programs in the Public Health Leadership Lab as well as Field Education and Practice. In his free time Zacch enjoys watching sports, listening to music, and spending time with his family.
Public Health Leadership

Zacch Olorunnipa (he/him) is an Education Coordinator within OEP. He supports programs in the Public Health Leadership Lab as well as Field Education and Practice. In his free time Zacch enjoys watching sports, listening to music, and spending time with his family.
Fawn Phelps is the Director of Leadership Development and an Instructor at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is an award-winning instructor with over 10 years of experience teaching within Harvard Chan’s DrPH and Public Health Leadership Lab Programs.
Prior to joining Harvard Chan, Ms. Phelps had a 15-year legislative and regulatory advocacy career where she lead systems-level change campaigns to improve the well-being of low-income and underrepresented populations. At Health Care For All, she served as Policy Director, Interim-Executive Director, and manager of the coalition backing Massachusetts’ 2006 health reform. She also served as the Director of Public Affairs at Easter Seals MA, a lobbyist for the Human Rights Campaign, and an aide to U.S. Senator Ron Wyden.
She has a BA with Honors from Wesleyan University and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School with a concentration in leadership and adult development.
Learning Design and Instructional Support
David Ginnings (he/him) is the Associate Director of Learning Design in the Learning Design and Instructional Support team and Instructor for the DrPH Program. He supports the continuous improvement and development of courses, and consults on matters related to effective learning design and facilitation. David holds a Doctor of Education degree from Regent University.
Madeleine Olson is a Learning Designer consulting and leading the design, development, and delivery of instructional materials with faculty of MPH programs. She is especially motivated by supporting the school’s educational mission of empowering students with critical consciousness to shape a healthier world.
Prior to HSPH, she worked at Georgetown University, both at the Red House and the Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship. Madeleine also became a BUILD Design Fellow at Desklight, a design-thinking consulting agency, where she developed a passion for human-centered design practices.
Madeleine holds an MA in Learning, Design, and Technology from Georgetown University and a BA in Critical Studies in Media Arts (Self-designed) from Mount Holyoke College.
She is the author of Subversive Pathways: Your Life as Transformative Design (New Degree Press, 2022), a non-fiction book on applying design-thinking to everyday life.
Tope joined the Office of Educational Programs at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2022. As a learning designer, she collaborates with a wider team across the school, offering learning design consultation as well as project managing the development and facilitation of educational experiences that empower learners to tackle the public health challenges of the 21st century.
Tope enjoys working at the intersection of design, emerging technology, learning sciences research, and neuroscience. This drives her curiosity for creating meaningful and engaging learning experiences for diverse learners. Her publication includes “Design Considerations for Improving Learner Engagement in Blended Online Learning: Shifting the Focus from What to How.” In Proceedings of EdMedia + Innovate Learning (AACE).
In her free time, she explores activities that help her find balance.
Lorna is a Senior Learning Designer in the Learning Design and Instructional Support group. She earned her BA in Earth and Planetary Sciences from the Johns Hopkins University; an MFS from Yale University; and an ALM from the Harvard Extension School in Digital Media Design.
Lorna worked many years in technical and educational publishing, including editing for Wolters Kluwer and serving as Managing Editor for Oak Ridge Associated Universities. She taught at the college level while raising two children. Her tenures as Visiting Faculty at North Shore Community College and Salem State University informed her work with adult learners. She taught biology, anatomy and physiology, and nutrition. She gained further expertise in health- and nutrition-related pedagogy while serving as Content Developer for Pearson Higher Education, where she oversaw their Mastering portfolios in health and nutrition.
In her spare time, Lorna loves to bake, paint, garden, listen to podcasts, and play with her dog.
Sejal Vashi (she/her) is the Director of Learning Design and Instructional Support, serving as a trusted advisor in developing pedagogically and technologically sound teaching and learning solutions. She is also an Instructor in the DrPH Program.
Sejal’s interests are in the intersection of education and public health. While teaching high school mathematics, she completed an MS in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Those experiences led her to pursue an MPH from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, where she focused on urbanism and the built environment.
Prior to joining Harvard Chan, Sejal was at the Infectious Diseases Institute in Kampala, Uganda, where she was an eLearning Specialist and a Global Health Corps fellow, designing and delivering training on HIV and TB, among other topics. Her former positions include work with the DelValle Institute for Emergency Preparedness at the Boston Public Health Commission, training health professionals on emergency preparedness.
Writing Programs
Donald has been teaching writing at Harvard Chan and developing its writing program for 20 years. He teaches courses and workshops for students, postdoctoral research fellows, and junior faculty from all 9 of the School’s departments on writing a wide range of documents, including doctoral dissertations, original research manuscripts for journal publication, and NIH and other grants.
He created the School’s faculty NIH grant writing course 12 years ago, as well as the postdoctoral grant writing course. When he can, he also works to develop the writing skills and capacity of researchers in Brazil, Ethiopia, and many other countries.
Senior Associate Dean for Educational Programs
Educational Policy
Jennifer Betancourt is the Director of Educational Policy, leading accreditation efforts, guiding the Committee on Educational Policy, overseeing Teaching Fellow training and schoolwide assessment systems, including course evaluations, the annual graduation satisfaction survey, and the curricular effectiveness survey.
She has 25+ years’ experience in the areas of higher education, youth services, and behavioral health. Former positions include working with The Watson Foundation, Tuesday’s Children and the Institute for Family Health in NYC.
She holds a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University, NJ; a MSW from Fordham University, NYC: and a Professional Certificate in Global Affairs from the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies, NYC.
She is a mother of two amazing boys and enjoys adventures with her family, practicing yoga, listening to podcasts, and participating in a collective of families of color that advocates for equitable educational opportunities in Cambridge.
Allison Bodznick (she/her) manages rights clearance for third-party content used in courses and programs across the School. She loves consulting on questions around the nuances of copyright, fair use, and access to course resources. She is also the administrator for the Harvard Chan Case Library and works on numerous other educational initiatives within OEP.
Allison holds a BFA/BA in Printmaking and Creative Writing from Cornell University and worked in publishing before coming to Harvard Chan. She is currently a Master of Library and Information Science student at Simmons University.
As Educational Policy Manager, Michael works to support key School requirements: accreditation, educational governance, course evaluations, Teaching Assistant training, teaching and learning initiatives focused on equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging, and other new strategic curricular initiatives.
Michael’s experience prior to Harvard Chan includes teaching at the high school, college, and adult education levels; managing a corporate training program; and working in international student services. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from University of Montana and an MA (Hons) in English Language and Literature from University of St Andrews.
Finance and Administration
Natalie Carter (she/her) is the Financial and Administrative Coordinator. She is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and human resource support serving the Office of Education and Office of Educational Programs.
Prior to joining Harvard Chan, Natalie worked on the west side of Chicago at Lawndale Christian Health Center in medical operations and mobile health serving those living in homeless shelters.
Leslie Thresher is the Associate Director of Finance and Administration in the Office of Educational Programs. She is responsible for financial, human resources, and operational management. Along with the Financial and Administrative Coordinator, she primarily supports the staff within the Office of the Dean for Education and the Office of Educational Programs.
