Collaborate with Partners to Identify Evidence-Based Interventions
New Publications from PRC Researchers and Our Research Partners
Dr. Erica Kenney, our HPRC Director of Research, collaborated on several recently published studies focused on child nutrition. These included studies examining the contributions of CACFP to dietary intake and the challenges of implementing CACFP in family child care homes, ways to retain participating WIC families, and how longitudinal changes in diet quality affect healthy growth among an adolescent cohort. HPRC Center Director Angie Cradock also collaborated on a recent implementation evaluation of an Illinois policy that requires healthier drinks in kids’ meals. Build Capacity for Conducting Community-Engaged Research
Community Outreach and Education at Dorchester Food Coop: Supporting Healthy Food Access and Sustainable Food Systems
Spencer Robinson, a Population Health Sciences PhD student in the Nutrition Department at Harvard Chan, collaborated with a team, including Angie Cradock, HPRC Center Director, and Jenny Silverman, Founder, and other leaders at the Dorchester Food Coop (DFC) to conduct a door-knocking effort to share information about how DFC works to support healthy food access, sustainability, and environmental health for residents. The collaboration also developed a virtual tour to show people within and outside Dorchester how, through its co-operative structure, DFC promotes environmental health and physical health and supports local economic development and community building. The collaboration was supported via the NIEHS-Center CAF program NIH Grant P30 ES000002!
