Student story: Dorit Stein wraps up dissertation project with policy dialogue
On August 21, 2025, recent PhD graduate Dorit Stein convened a policy dialogue as the final dissemination event for her dissertation project on the health and financial risk protection impacts of a national health insurance scheme in Uganda. Held in partnership with Makerere University School of Public Health and Uganda’s Ministry of Health, the event featured two panel discussions on critical themes: enrolling the informal sector into health insurance and improving quality of care for non-communicable diseases. The dialogue brought together policymakers, academics, and civil society to discuss strategies for advancing equitable health financing and improving NCD care in Uganda.
