Last week, the Health Systems Innovation Lab traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to conduct a research development workshop. The workshop brought together 25 researchers from eight countries working on type 1 diabetes to strengthen their research design, analysis, and dissemination skills.

Participants developed a research project related to type 1 diabetes during the workshop and presented it on the final day. After engaging the participants and learning about their research ideas, the Lab feels inspired and hopeful about the future of global diabetes research and care.

This event was part of the Global Collaborative for Changing Diabetes in Children, an initiative advancing research and capacity building to improve outcomes for children and youth living with type 1 diabetes around the world.
