Welcome to the HGNLP!
Participants gain knowledge and skills to strengthen their country’s health systems and better manage population health to address acute and chronic problems such as health worker shortages, workplace equity, reforming policies and regulations in education, practice and regulatory bodies, and future pandemics.
This innovative certificate program is designed for executive-level nursing and midwifery professionals and educators seeking advanced training in global public health and leadership skills. Curricula aligns with the goals of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and international entities including the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations, World Bank, International Council of Nurses, and others.
Recognizing the urgent need to elevate nursing and midwifery leadership around the world, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in collaboration with the Harvard Kennedy School, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, launched the Harvard Global Nursing Leadership Program (HGNLP) in 2020. In 2022, the HGNLP, launched the Harvard Global Public Health for Nurse Leaders Certificate Program.
The Certificate Program focuses on global public health mandates such as global health security, universal health coverage, and the achievement of progress towards the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Certificate Program is designed for ministry of health-level nurses, district-level nurses, nursing deans, professors, hospital and public health organization administrators, and executives from national nursing associations across Africa, Asia, the Eastern Mediterranean, Europe, Latin, Central and South America, and North America.
