Daniel O. Beaudoin is Manager of Operations, Energy and Utilities for the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dan has more than 20 years' experience in building operations, construction, and building automated control systems. He has participated in building construction projects with a total construction value exceeding $100 million and has managed energy conservation projects that include building automated controls conversions, energy management system upgrades, utility service and distribution upgrades, lighting retrofits, retro-commissioning existing buildings, and various mechanical systems upgrades resulting in annual energy savings of over $1.4 Million and greenhouse gas reductions of 14.3%. Dr. Steven M. Becker is professor of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Environmental Health in the Joint School of Public Health at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He is an internationally recognized expert on radiological/nuclear emergencies, with a special focus on community impacts and resilience; emergency planning, training, preparedness and response; responder concerns and information needs; drill and exercise design; risk communication and emergency messaging; and long-term recovery challenges. Dr. Becker has had extensive on-the-ground field experience at the sites of radiation incidents around the world, including the 1999 nuclear criticality accident in Tokaimura, Japan. Dr. Ronald R. Bellamy retired from the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in June 2013 with over 40 years’ experience in various technical and management positions of increasing responsibility. He has managed the NRC’s oversight of commercial operating nuclear power plants, decommissioning of nuclear plants as well as materials facilities, and was assigned to the Three Mile Island Unit 2 cleanup for 3 years. He has managed the NRC’s technical programs in the areas of health physics and radiation protection, effluent and environmental monitoring, emergency preparedness, and security and safeguards. Mark Bennett has worked in the field of occupational safety and industrial hygiene for over 35 years. Emphases include safety in clinical and research laboratories, respiratory protection, job safety analysis, and life safety.
Dr. Bennett serves as Michigan State University’s (MSU) vice president and chief diversity officer where he reports directly to the president and is a member of the executive leadership team. In this role, he partners with other senior leaders, deans, faculty, staff, students and alumni to advance the institution’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategic priorities. Dr. Bennett is also a professor of medicine in the College of Human Medicine at MSU.Prior to joining MSU, Dr. Bennett served as the inaugural associate provost for diversity and inclusion, and chief diversity officer at Northwestern University. Wade Berner is a registered Professional Engineer in both the US and Canada and has been immersed within facility commissioning, optimization and performance for over 27 years. As a Commissioning Authority, he has implemented these strategies on projects ranging from elementary schools to highly critical facilities including two BSL4 laboratory facilities and a rocket launch complex. In his career, Wade has seen the construction industry from many different vantage points, starting with the owner’s as a commissioning field engineer with the Canadian Federal Government. Lavanya later went on to work in the CEO’s office at The Hindu, one of India’s leading newspapers where she worked on supporting and building two in-house ventures. Recon’s clients include health systems, provider organizations, payers, life-science firms, digital health firms, and non-profits. Jakob Bjørner is Chief Science Officer at QualityMetric and Professor of Epidemiology at the National Research Centre for the Working Environment in Denmark. He also has affiliations with the University of Copenhagen. Jakob specializes in applying modern psychometric theory to the measurement of health outcomes. In collaboration with John E. Ware Jr. and the science team at QualityMetric, Jakob developed the DYNHA® computerized adaptive testing software for measuring patient reported health outcomes. They have subsequently developed several computerized adaptive tests of generic and disease-specific health. Bonnie Blanchfield is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health (HSPH) and Harvard Medical School.
