Overview
Supportive and Rigorous Training Environment
- PhD students can join IID thesis labs through any of Harvard’s 13 Life Sciences PhD programs. Our students most commonly come from the Biological Sciences in Public Health program (BPH), the Biological and Biomedical Sciences program (BBS), Virology program, and Immunology program.
- All students are guaranteed full tuition and salary stipend.
- Students in IID engage in research rotations and courses in their first year, followed by full-time research. Coursework spans molecular and cellular biology, computational methods, and infectious diseases biology (e.g. Biology and Control of Vector-Borne Parasitic Diseases, Microbial Pathogenesis and Host Immune Responses). Trainees also participate in workshops on specialized topics like Pandemic Preparedness, science communication, and Pathogen Therapeutic Development and Implementation.
- Social and advising events build mentoring connections with faculty, students, and alum.
Collaborations
Students engage in research and field work with our collaborators across the world.
