Thank you
To the Harvard Chan community,
I am writing to extend my deepest thanks for your perseverance in advancing our mission through this most challenging year. Amid stress and uncertainty, you have demonstrated integrity, commitment, and professionalism. That has been a force for good, both on our campus and beyond.
As we enter the summer months, the work to reshape Harvard Chan School’s research and educational enterprises continues. Like many of you, I feel both grief and anger at the pain inflicted on our community.
Yet I firmly believe that we will emerge from this crisis with a more sustainable model for a world-leading school of public health, focused on excellence and impact in all we do. The ingenuity, boldness, and brilliance of our students, trainees, staff, scientists, and faculty give me every reason to believe that we will not only overcome this moment—we will move forward with clarity and purpose, more united and more determined to build a world where everyone can thrive.
I draw inspiration from our Class of 2025 graduates and their drive to make the world a better place. This short video perfectly captures the spirit of last week’s Convocation and Commencement:
Over the summer, I will continue to update you on our work to address the financial crisis. I will also share information on federal actions affecting Harvard Chan School.
I know anxieties will continue to cast a shadow, but I hope you are able to enjoy restorative time with friends and family.
Thank you again for all your contributions through these very tough months.
With my best wishes,
Andrea
