StatStart Program Successfully Concludes

The StatStart program concluded last week with 8 high school students presenting the research they worked on during the last week of the summer program.

The following topics were included in the presentations: Data GGplot Visualization and Dplyr Data Wrangling: Pokemon version, Predicting Titanic Survival using Machine Learning, The Law of Large Numbers and Computer Simulations, and 2D Visualization of Protein Interactions.

PhD candidate Carmen Rodriguez started the day off with Welcome Remarks followed by PhD candidate Madhav Sankaranarayanan, who gave a talk about his personal journey to biostatistics. Dr. Heather Mattie, EDIB Programs Director, presented the closing remarks. We would like to thank everyone who attended the presentations both in person and virtually!
