Publication Explores How Employers Can Build High-Quality Workplaces for Age-Diverse Workforces

As the U.S. workforce continues to age, we are increasingly confronting an important question: How can employers shape work environments that support worker health and well-being?
Center researchers have addressed this in “Beyond the Generations: Building a High-Quality Workplace for an Age-Diverse Workforce,” published in the American Society on Aging’s Generations Journal. Authors Cal Halvorsen, Bruna Lopez, and Erika Sabbath explore how employers can create better workplaces for people of all ages, concluding with the case for why more age-inclusive workplaces lead to better results for employees, their families, and their employers.
This publication reflects work being done by the Center’s Older Workers’ Health and Well-being Study, focusing on understanding how access to workplace benefits and policies are associated with older workers’ physical and mental health as well as enjoyment in going to work.
