SOGIE Health Equity Research Collaborative

The mission of the SOGIE Collaborative is to advance health equity for all communities, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity and expression.

Support Our Work

The SOGIE Collaborative is an LGBTQ+ health powerhouse with untapped potential to advocate for and improve the health and well-being of LGBTQ+ people and communities. Now, more than ever, your contribution is critical to supporting the work of the SOGIE Collaborative. At present, the SOGIE Collaborative is an unfunded, entirely volunteer-led group of more than 85 LGBTQ+ health researchers across all professional levels, including students, early-career researchers, and senior faculty.

As obtaining essential federal funding for research advancing LGBTQ+ health and well-being becomes increasingly difficult, the contributions of individual donors are more critical than ever.

To contribute to the SOGIE Collaborative, please contact Allyson McArthur at allyson.mcarthur@chtrust.org.

Your contributions directly support:

  • Pilot grants for innovative research advancing LGBTQ+ health.
  • Professional development opportunities for SOGIE Collaborative members, including workshops (e.g., grant-writing, health communication) and conference travel funding for trainees, graduate students, and early-career researchers.
  • Seminar series and other events to share the SOGIE Collaborative’s work with the wider public.
  • An online resource on the SOGIE Collaborative website featuring members and their research, providing a unique source for journalists and policy-makers looking for experts on LGBTQ+ subject matter topics.
  • Research personnel (SOGIE-affiliated faculty and staff) who have had federal grants terminated, enabling members to continue our urgently needed work.

In the current sociopolitical climate where LGBTQ+ research is being defunded at the federal level, it is especially important to provide financial support to enable SOGIE Collaborative members to continue and disseminate their research. Please consider supporting our work!
