Merrily LeBlanc (she/her) is a Senior Research Assistant at Fenway Health and a doctoral student in Sociology at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. With a professional background in direct patient care across various behavioral and health settings, Merrily brings practical experience to her research in LGBTQ+ health. Her research interests lie at the intersection of gender, sexuality, and health, using sociological frameworks along with feminist and queer theory to explore issues of health justice. She is particularly interested in how bias, discrimination, and sociopolitical discourse shape the health and healthcare experiences of LGBTQ+/queer communities. She is also passionate about studying queer resistance strategies, like community activism, and its role in promoting better health and well-being in LGBTQ+/queer communities.
