Welcome to PROSPECT
The Puerto Rico Observational Study of Psychosocial, Environmental, and Chronic Disease Trends (PROSPECT) examines health determinants that may contribute to Puerto Rico’s high, unexplained risk of cardiovascular disease and chronic diseases. Launched in 2019, PROSPECT brings together researchers from Puerto Rico and the U.S.
We are well on our way to reaching our target of 2,000 participants. However, we are still seeking more participants, so please join and be a part of Puerto Rico’s history and future! We extend our sincere gratitude to the current participants in PROSPECT and acknowledge their dedication to the advancement of public health in Puerto Rico and beyond. Their contributions are vital to PROSPECT’s success.
PROSPECT is the largest research study ever to be conducted in Puerto Rico that examines health determinants, including prevalence of chronic diseases, diet, social and emotional situations, and lifestyle. The results of the study will inform policies and programs to improve health outcomes and meet the specific needs of people living in Puerto Rico.
Our main site is in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with collaborating centers and clinics (for interviews) throughout Puerto Rico.
