Community Safety Evaluation Lab (CSE-Lab)

The CSE-Lab is leading a portfolio of evaluation projects focused on community safety, including school and online safety programs, human trafficking prevention, and hate-fueled violence prevention programs. Violence is a public health concern, and disciplines such as social science, epidemiology, behavioral science, and risk communication, which are commonly used to tackle public health problems, can successfully contribute to addressing violence and improving community safety.
The CSE-Lab helps inform the development of policies and interventions based on sound scientific evidence on the nature, causes, and consequences of violence, with a special focus on youth online behaviors, youth mental health, and school personnel’s knowledge and skills to manage situations that may lead to abuse and violence.
