Our Story
The ARISE Network was established in 2014 to bridge gaps in public health research and training across Africa. Our founders envisioned a network that would empower African researchers, promote local capacity building, and support the implementation of evidence-based public health solutions. Today, we have grown into a vibrant international community of over 30 partner institutions, with a shared commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of people in Africa and beyond.
Mission and Vision
Our mission is to improve health outcomes in Africa through high-quality research, education, and partnerships. By connecting African institutions with global expertise, we aim to empower the next generation of public health leaders and drive evidence-based policy reforms to address complex health challenges.
Our vision is to be a leading network for public health innovation, recognized for our capacity to transform lives through research, capacity building, and collaboration.

Strategic Approach
ARISE takes a multi-faceted approach to achieving its mission. By aligning research with real-world health needs, supporting education and skills development, and partnering with local communities, governments, and international organizations, we ensure that our work has a lasting impact on public health policies, practices, and outcomes.
