Biography
Dr. Minhee Kang is a Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR) in the Department of Biostatistics at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She has led statistical efforts for over 20 therapeutic and vaccine clinical trials and observational studies in infectious diseases. They range from dose-finding Phase I and test-of concept Phase I/II trials to Phase III confirmatory trials in HIV, human papillomavirus (HPV), Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), and hepatitis B and C (HBV, HCV).
She collaborates in the NIAID-funded ACTG (Advancing Clinical Therapeutics Globally) clinical trials network and serves on the Hepatitis Steering Committee to plan scientific and implementation strategies for promoting hepatitis clinical trials. She also serves on an independent ACTG Study Monitoring Committee for periodical reviews of the accumulating interim data to monitor safety, efficacy, and conduct of clinical trials aimed at HIV viral eradication and cure.
Dr. Kang has contributed to the statistical research in multi-state models, including their applications to assess imperfect, operational definitions of persistent infection in HPV and HCV. Her recent contributions are in efficient and practical clinical trial designs motivated by her collaborations in the ACTG.
