Bryan Thomas, Jr., Chief Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Officer, oversees the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and works to strengthen the School’s commitment to pluralism and build capacity for meaningful and respectful engagement across differences. His expertise is in enhancing processes that strengthen community, climate, and culture in organizations.
Before joining the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Bryan worked at MIT’s Sloan School of Management developing the establishment of MIT Sloan’s diversity, equity, and inclusion office and helped to foster a culture of rich inclusivity. Prior to that period, Bryan served as associate director of the EDGE Fellowship at Stanford University.
He holds a bachelor’s in communications from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a master’s in higher education from Florida International University, and a doctorate in higher education leadership from Colorado State University.
