Health and Human Rights Journal names new editor
November 15, 2023 – The Health and Human Rights Journal (HHR) has a new editor-in-chief— Joseph Amon of Drexel University.
The journal, co-published by the François-Xavier Bagnoud (FXB) Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard University and Drexel University’s Dornsife School of Public Health, aims to increase access to human rights knowledge in the health field.
Amon is the director of the Office of Global Health, director of the Jonathan Mann Global Health and Human Rights Initiative, and a clinical professor in the Department of Community Health and Prevention at the Dornsife School.
Previous editor of HHR was Paul Farmer, co-founder of Partners in Health, who served from 2008 until his death in 2022. Prior editors included Sofia Gruskin, who served from 1997 to 2007, and founding editor Jonathan Mann, who served from 1994 to 1997. Mann was also founding director of the FXB Center.
