Celebrating winter Harvard Chan graduates

December 17, 2019 – About 70 students, along with faculty members, family, and friends, gathered in Kresge Cafeteria on December 11, 2019 to celebrate their graduation from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

It was the School’s first-ever Winter Graduation Celebration for students who officially graduated in November or who were set to complete their degree requirements in December.

In remarks to the graduates, Dean Michelle Williams spoke about Alice Hamilton, a renowned industrial health expert who became Harvard’s first female faculty member 100 years ago, and whose legacy highlights the fact that public health is about activism as well as academics.

“It’s up to us to use what we learn to not only change hearts and minds—but to change outcomes,” Williams said.
