Program Overview
Supporting Executives with Directions, Tools, and Approaches to Increase Representation of Women in Health Care and Related Industry Boards
Gender diversity is increasingly a priority in board compositions. According to a Deloitte survey of Fortunate 500 boards, women—many from historically underrepresented groups—now hold a 30% of seats on those boards, an increase from 26.5% in 2020. Women on Boards: Getting On and Adding Value, a must-attend program for women executives seeking board positions, is looking to diversify those compositions even more.
As a participant, you will gain the practical tools for securing a board seat and master strategies that will help you overcome challenges. The cohort will view and learn from real situations where female board members had to lead their companies through tough situations. Then, you will use that knowledge to develop your own identity as a board candidate, determining what key attributes you can bring to a board—and how to find the right one that needs what you can offer.
Some other insight you’ll gain from attending Women on Boards include the answers to questions like these:
- How much time will you devote to being a board member?
- What form does board member compensation take?
- What is the governance role of a board member versus that of a shareholder or management?
- What are the most desired board member traits?
The answers to these questions, and others, come from a curated group of experts and highly effective board members. Join esteemed faculty and participants in our two-day Women on Boards: Getting On and Adding Value program that will expand your ability to evaluate board opportunities, communicate in the language of boards, and gain the critical skills needed to be successful.
