Biography
Santiago Romero-Brufau MD, PhD is the Director of AI and Healthcare Systems Engineering for the Department of Otorynolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Mayo Clinic, where he is Assistant Professor. He is also Adjunct Assistant Professor of Biostatistics at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, where he serves in the executive committee and teaches two of the core courses in the Master’s in Health Data Science. Dr. Romero-Brufau’s work is centered on developing and implementing machine-learning models and other data science solutions into Mayo’s clinical practice. His focus is on real-world applications as well as how to integrate advanced solutions into the clinical workflow, and bridging the gap between model development and clinical and public health impact.
